The opening night at YBCA spotlights Bay Area groups committed to youth representation, with special performances by Youth Speaks, YR Media, and artist Caleb Duarte with students from Fremont High Newcomer Educational Support & Transition Program. Their work in the exhibition, along with Center for Media Justice and MLK Jr. Middle School, is presented together with Lacy's landmark projects with young people in Oakland and Medellín in a new approach to the historical and present-day resonance of Lacy's work in the Bay Area.
